Tribute to Helpers in Tan Families

Aunt Anastasia recalled that the Wee family had two Teochew speaking maids – Ah Lee and Ah Nap and in the Pasir Panjang Road home and they chanted prayers 24 hours when Regina died in September 1941.  I hope someone has a photo of them. ReginaTan26Feb23 PhilipWee7March2023 Regina Tan Mui Liam / Liang, the second child and  second daughter of John Tan married Catholic-Teochew philanthropist David Wee Cheng Soon (1875/86-1944), the son of Peter Ng and Victoria Tan, on 30 July 1901 at St Peter and Paul’s Church. The couple had six (6) biological children and two adopted children. Sadly, their 4th biological child and 3rd daughter Mary, died in 1915 at 3 Tank Road, of bronchitis. The five biological children who survived were: a) Cecilia (1902-84) who married Mr Anthony Low Hua Mong and had nine (9) children.
